AI & SI
Superintelligence is often discussed as a software problem. But progress is gated by hardware: energy, memory bandwidth, and interconnects. Light-matter computing is one attempt to move that bottleneck.
AI & SI
Brains compute with spikes, not clocks. Neuromorphic photonics tries to do the same with light — and polaritons may provide the spiking, thresholding dynamics it needs.
AI & SI
Photons barely interact, which makes them fast but hard to switch. Polaritons borrow interaction from excitons — and that trade may be the key to optical logic.
AI & SI
Excitons blend the speed of photons with the interactability of matter. That combination is why researchers are exploring them as a basis for a new kind of computing hardware.
